Nigeria’s Super Eagles lose three points in World Cup qualifier

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have lost three points in their 2018 World Cup qualifier. The loss came as FIFA gifted Algeria a 3-0 walk-over defeat of the Eagles, because Nigeria fielded an ineligible player in the match.

Super-Eagles
The fixture on Nov. 10 had ended 1-1, but FIFA on Tuesday added that the decision did not affect the final standings in African Qualifying Competition Group B.

It said the decision also did not affect Nigeria’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup in Russia, as they had finished six points clear of Zambia.

The player involved in the match played in Constantine was Shehu Abdullahi, and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is also receiving a fine of CHF 6,000.

The sanction relates to Abdullahi failing to serve the automatic one-match suspension imposed on him as a result of receiving a caution in two separate matches of the same competition.

FIFA, in a statement, also said East Timor had forfeited seven games in the World Cup qualifiers for fielding a total of nine players who were ineligible because of nationality.

This was based on a decision previously taken by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Nigeria Nawa; FIFA Fines Nigeria For Fielding Ineligible Player In 2018 World Cup Qualifier

FIFA has fined the Nigeria Football Federation 6,000 Swiss
Francs (approximately N2,175,660.00) for fielding an ineligible
player in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying match between
Algeria and Nigeria on November 10, 2017.

A statement by the (NFF) noted, however, that the sanction
does not in any way hurt Nigeria ’s qualification for the 2018
FIFA World Cup finals, as the Super Eagles had picked the
ticket from Group B ahead of the clash in Constantine.
The decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee which sat on
the matter read, inter alia: “ The Nigeria Football Federation is
liable for having breached art.55 par.1 of the FIFA Disciplinary
Code and art. 8 of the 2018 Regulations of the FIFA World Cup
Russia.
“ The match played within the frame of the preliminary
competition of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia between
Algeria and Nigeria on 10 November 2017 is declared to be
lost by forfeit by Nigeria (3-0).”
According to the NFF, Following the decision, Nigeria ’s total
points tally reduced by just one, to 13, while Algeria moved
from 2 to 4 points.
FIFA had hinted the NFF about the disciplinary proceedings,
following the use of defender Abdullahi Shehu in the said
match.
Shehu had received a yellow card in the match against
Zambia in Uyo on October 7, 2017 (the match in which victory
guaranteed Nigeria a place in Russia), making it a second for
him in the qualifying race, following an earlier yellow card
against Swaziland in the preliminary round.
Traditionally, yellow cards issued in previous rounds of the
qualifying race are cancelled going forward, but the principle
did not apply for the latest series.
However, in response, a miffed NFF President Pinnick, has
directed that an internal inquiry be instituted immediately and
persons found culpable be dealt with. “We accept the decision
of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee to fine the NFF and award
the match to Algeria.
“However, this is a grave error, and somebody must be
punished. We apologize to Nigeria ns for this and assure that
this will not in any way derail or even distract us in our well –
laid plan to ensure that the Super Eagles have a great outing in
Russia.
“At the same time, I want to assure that persons responsible
for this slip would not be given just a slap on the wrist.
“We are actually looking at a re-organization of the Technical
Department. The Technical Committee will henceforth play
serious superintending role on all details, no matter how
minute, in technical matters.
“It is important that all committees and departments at the
NFF should move at the same pace as the Executive
Committee,” Pinnick stated.

2018!!JAMB Warns UTME Candidates Against Fake Past Questions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has
drawn the attention of candidates for the 2018 Unified
Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to fake past
question papers in circulation.

The agency’s Head of Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, gave
the warning in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja.
The board said the fake past questions in circulation in CD
are intended to defraud unsuspecting candidates.
The statement read: “The fake past questions in CD Rom
titled: ‘JAMB PRO CBT practice software for UTME’ was
purported to have emanated from JAMB in other to give
credence to the products market and perpetuate their
nefarious activities.
“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) wish
to dissociate itself from the production and sale of the fake
CD and warned the public to be vigilant and avoid being
defrauded.”
Dr Fabian Benjamin said the board had not authorised
anybody or group to do so on its behalf.
According to him, preliminary investigation by the Board
showed that the past questions in circulation are fake and
had no semblance to JAMB question papers both in context,
content and forms.
He added: “The board as a responsible and responsive
organisation would not be part of any ploy to defraud
innocent candidate and has put machinery in motion for any
of her outlets and service providers not be used as channel
of exploitation or distribution of such fake items.
“Following the unfortunate development, the board has
directed all its CBT centres to be wary of this CD in
circulation in other not to be used as a channel to market this
product.
“The board will continue to ensure that candidates applying
for its examination are not misled. Some of these questions
in the past have led to some brilliant candidates failing the
examination because they relied on them.
“Candidates are therefore advised to study well for the
examination and channel all enquires to any of the board
offices nationwide for any redress, challenges or

4 Interesting Ways Not To Be Tired At Work

Many times, we find ourselves tired at work and this can be quite frustrating because not only does it interfere with our productivity, it makes everything seem harder.

However, to get some extra energy and survive the entire day, Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares some useful tips to avoid being tired at the work.

Limit Your Caffeine Intake
Avoid taking caffeinated teas anything after 2pm because this can keep you active for the greater part of night and make you tired during the day. Additionally, you should altogether reduce your intake of caffeinated beverages and keep it to a minimum.

Try taking care of the bulk of your work during the day so that you can get some rest at night and won’t have to take caffeine to remain awake all through to get work done.

Eat Healthily During The Day
Sometimes people take the ‘fit-fam’ movement to the extreme and end up practically starving themselves during the day. The body needs food to be active – food is to the body what fuel is to a car. If you don’t eat well and healthily during the day, you’re going to end up feeling tired and slow all through.

Additionally, you should endeavour to eat foods in small portions while at work because taking large portions might end up making you feel sleepy. Also, favour fruits over fatty, sugary and processed snacks and be sure to drink enough water. Being dehydrated can also weigh you down.

Do A Little Exercise
If you sit at work all day, there is no way you would not be tired – your joints would be stiff and your muscles would ache from all that sitting. Taking short walks during your lunch break, or simply looking for excuses to go up and down the stairs or to walk from here to there can go a long way in helping you to avoid being tired in the workplace.

Expose Yourself To Natural Light
Our body’s ‘circadian rhythm’ needs sunlight to stay regulated, so going outside for a few minutes of exposure to natural light can help to remind your brain that you are still in the waking hours. Additionally, when it’s time to sleep, you should try to avoid checking your phone.

This is because the blue light emitted from your phone screen tricks your brain into thinking it’s daytime and thus prevents the release of melatonin – the sleep hormone. If you must use your phone at night, you can try downloading a blue light filter app to mitigate the effects of the light emitted from your phone screen on your body.

JAMBITES ONLY! 5 Things You Should Know Before Registering For JAMB 2018

If you are reading this post, then that means you want to sit for the upcoming UTME exam. Then i congratulate you because you are at the right place. Naijaloaded is here to help you even when preparing for your exams.

We will like to tell you things you need to know before registering for JAMB exam.

1. Your Name is very important:

Yes, your name can cost you your admission if you spell your name wrong. I have seen students been admitted by JAMB but were rejected by the University during clearance because of their names does not correlate with other documents like O’level result certificate, birth certificate etc.

Although, JAMB use to allow for ” change of data” where you can correct your name incase you made mistake, but to be on a safer side, make sure you carefully spell your name to the JAMB official that is going to register you.

2. Know The Course You Want To Study:

I usually find it funny whenever a student says he doesn’t know the course to pick. Course is not something you should pick at random, course is something you have passion for, something you have knowledge about.

Don’t let anyone decide your course for you. If you are having problem choosing a course, i already made a post they will help you decide the course you really want to study. Click the link below to read the post.

3. Know the subject combination for your course :

Alot of student make this mistake by choosing wrong subject combinations for their course. If you want to avoid any form of mistake, then i will advise you to use “JAMB Brochure”, look for your course and you will see the subject combination for the course.

Remember, this mistake can not be amend after you have sat for the exam, which means your admission for that year is not certain. Be wise!!!

4. Use one sitting result :

I have come to realize that students with one sitting result have more advantage than students using two sitting results. I have already made a post about the ” possible disadvantages of using two sitting result “, you can click the link below to read it.

Also make sure your minimum grade in your WAEC/NECO/GCE is “C6”, anything more than that, won’t be accepted by the University you choose.

5. Your Date of Birth:

Don’t ever make a mistake of changing your date of birth because your admission can be revoke by JAMB or by the University if they find out.

Minimum age federal universities accept is 16 years old, anything less than that, might not work out. If you are 15 year’s old, just relax and wait for the following year or you can apply to private university if you can afford it.

Having said all this, you can now go and register for JAMB, wish you success.
If you have any kind of admission issues, then let me know through the comment or send a mail to my email address.

Thank You.

“The Problem With Nigerian Youth Is That They Just Want To Take Over From The Elite” – Rotimi Amaechi

MINSTER of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, says Nigeria youths are copying the wrong model of leadership, an act, he notes, may jeopardise their future.

Amaechi made the assertion in an interview with sources on the sidelines of the Future Awards Africa held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos last Saturday.

He said the youths are not ready yet to embrace a corrupt-free society because they were wrongly orientated by those who were using them for their interest. He said:

The problem with Nigerian youth is that they just want to take over from the elite but they are not ready to embrace change, they don’t want reform.

They say that the roles being played by the elite are not satisfactory, but they must be ready to upset the leaders of this country through their ingenuity.

For example, during our days of activism, we engage government over unfavourable policies and we get headlong even during the military administration.

Now, student union presidents want a vehicle and a driver to be driving him about to attend meetings; during our time, who dares have a car, we all struggle on the street. He advised Nigerian youth to rise to the fight against corruption.

He said:

I will advise the youth to fight against corruption with all their energy instead of giving tacit support to those they think are their benefactors.

During our time in the student union struggles, we rose against impunity and organised protests; but what happens today, the government of the day announces the money siphoned but the youth keep quiet.

Such astronomic stolen amount government announced wouldn’t have happened during our time, all the street would have been filled with youths protesting and seeing that the culprits were punished.

Today, we have some of our youths dancing behind the corrupt politicians for a pot of meal that will not last long thereby mortgaging their future.

Amaechi said that Nigerian youth should stand up to the reality of life by asking questions from leaders on how they manage the economy and the commonwealth of Nigeria. He wrote:

Nigerian youth should start asking questions from leaders, including me, about what we are doing with our resources. It’s time to reject those that put us in this.

We should all desist from pulling our country down through corruption. But unfortunately, the youth are not interested in that, all what they want is how to look good.

Maybe they looked at me wearing designer shoes, what they will notice is that designer and how they can get it. That is not supposed to be.

During my time as a student union leader, I had only two pairs of clothes. But now the value system is wrong and the youth are copying wrong leadership model.

The schoolboy, believed to be from Guinea in West Africa, was hiding in a foetal position in a pair of dirty shorts. The youngster was stuffed into the tiny space between the engine and the passenger of the BMW X5.

The car was ripped apart to retrieve the child. The child was said to have been disoriented and suffering breathing difficulties and numbness in his limbs because of the position he had been forced to adopt.

He was given medical assistance at the scene.
